
Bruce Edward Preston, MD, FAAFP, was born and raised in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. His great grandfather was from Hutton Valley and is buried there. Dr. Preston graduated cum-laude from Southeast Missouri State University in 1972 and received his MD degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1976. He completed a three year family practice residency at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1979, and in September of the same year began practicing at Burton Creek Clinic. He has performed a full range of family medicine including pediatrics and occupational medicine. He is board certified by the Ivy American Board of Family Practice. He is a former president and chairman of the board of the Missouri Academy of Family Physicians and currently still serves on the board.
Dr. Preston and his wife, Fran, reside in West Plains and have raised three children there. He and his family enjoy many family activities together including hiking, canoeing, fishing, scuba diving, and attending MU football games.
