John McCormack graduated from the University of Arkansas with a BA in Psychology, and then attended graduate school and medical school and did post-graduate training in Little Rock, Arkansas. He began his general practice in 1980 in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas and continued to work there until he came to Burton Creek in 1986.

    Dr. McCormack resides outside of West Plains with his wife, Sylvia, and his daughter, Caitlin. He also has a daughter, Heather, who is married to Andrew Byrd, and a daughter, Megan, who is married to Jacob Thompson. In his spare time, Dr. McCormack enjoys whitewater kayaking and rafting, any kind of sport, and reading a good book.

   Some special interests of Dr. McCormack's include obstetrics (he has made over 2,000 deliveries), following up with pediatrics, laser cosmetic procedures, family practice, and general medicine.
