Born and raised near Kansas City, MO, Dr. Bowles spent many summers as a youth working and vacationing in the Ozarks. After Family Practice Residency at Penn State, locating to West Plains was like coming home. He attended William Jewell College as a scholar athlete, then went to the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine. There he met his future bride Judy. He began his first private practice at Burton Creek in 1985 (in that same year he successfully completed his first board certification) and continues at the very same location.

    He and Judy have four children, and they have a zip line in the back yard. Dr. Bowles loves family doctoring, in the clinic and in the nearby hospital.
